Team Sky principal and British Cycling performance director David Brailsford has received a knighthood from the Queen.
The 48-year-old, who was knighted at Buckingham Palace this afternoon, was given the honour for services to cycling and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London.
Brailsford led Team GB to eight gold medals for a second successive Olympics as well as helping Bradley Wiggins clinch the Tour de France title with Team Sky last year.
Meanwhile, Olympic heptathlete Jessica Ennis collected her CBE at the palace today, while long-jump champion Greg Rutherford and boxing gold medallist Nicola Adams were awarded with MBEs.
