Newcastle United's newly appointed director of football Joe Kinnear has reportedly decided to take a holiday less than a week into his new role.
The 66-year-old officially took up his senior position at St James' Park on Monday, which sees the veteran take an active role in player recruitment alongside manager Alan Pardew.
While the first-team squad began pre-season training this week, Kinnear travelled to Sardinia for a short break, according to the Sunday People.
Kinnear has yet to bring in a fresh face on Tyneside in the close season as a deal was scrapped for Dutch defender Douglas 48 hours ago.
