Former McLaren driver John Watson believes that Lewis Hamilton is wrong to take his dog Roscoe with him into the F1 paddock.

Former McLaren Formula 1 driver John Watson believes that Lewis Hamilton should not be permitted to have his pet bulldog with him on race weekends.

The Mercedes driver was granted a permit by F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone to allow his pet Roscoe in the paddock, but Watson thinks that it is unfair on the dog.

"There is no place for a dog in the F1 paddock," the Daily Mail quotes Watson as saying. "For one thing it is not fair on the animal.

"It might be in luxurious surroundings but an engine firing up is like a firecracker or bomb going off for a dog. It's not right. It just shows that Mercedes are bending over too far to please Lewis."

Meanwhile, Hamilton celebrated his five-year anniversary with popstar girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger on Sunday.
