Tom Cleverley closes Twitter account

Tom Cleverley quits Twitter following the abuse that he recently received on the social networking site.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has deactivated his account on social networking site Twitter.

The 24-year-old has taken the decision just a day after he admitted that he felt he had been made a "scapegoat" for United's inconsistent form since the start of the season.

It has not yet been confirmed that the abuse is the reason behind his Twitter exit, but that is what is being speculated presently.

Cleverley has scored one goal during his 30 appearances for club and country this season.
