Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly left his players "seriously pissed off" after he scheduled a training session at Old Trafford for 4.30pm on Christmas Day.
Players are usually allowed to spend the afternoon at home with their families after a morning session at Carrington, but Mourinho has opted to cut short the festivities as he looks to turn around the club's sub-par performance in the Premier League.
United are currently sixth in the table, 13 points off leaders Chelsea and six points from the top four.
"Everyone is seriously pissed off. They've never heard anything like it - not even under Fergie," a source told The Sun. "All the staff are used to coming in and sorting training out at Carrington but having it at Old Trafford adds a whole new level of organisation and brings more staff in.
"Jose's had a face like thunder at the training ground for most of the season and is clearly not happy with results.
"Some staff will even have to stay later on to sort out the pitch and stadium for the next day's home game. He's effectively cancelled Christmas."
United welcome former manager David Moyes's struggling Sunderland to Old Trafford on Boxing Day, ahead of another home encounter with Middlesbrough on New Year's Eve.
