Manchester City's plans to extend Etihad Stadium 'to get green light'

Manchester City's plans to add more seating to the Etihad Stadium will reportedly be given the green light by the council.

Manchester City's plans to expand the seating at the Etihad Stadium will reportedly be approved.

The North-West outfit are said to have submitted plans to add an extra 6,250 seats at both ends of the Premier League ground, as well as 2,000 more seats situated around the pitch.

According to the Manchester Evening News, a report released on Thursday has suggested that City will get the go-ahead for their stadium plans after they sent papers to Manchester council's planning committee.

The extension would take the stadium's capacity to 62,170, which would give Manchester the two biggest grounds in the top flight.
