The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London this summer has been recorded as the most-watched TV programme in the last three decades.
The show, which marked the end of the successful two-week Games at the Olympic Stadium on August 12, raked in more than 24m viewers for BBC One.
The ceremony included performances from the Spice Girls, Take That and Madness as well as the passing on of the torch to the country's future athletes.
The show came top in the 10 most-watched programmes in the past 31 years, which included the opening ceremony, the 1998 World Cup clash between England and Argentina and the Panorama special on Princess Diana.
