Liverpool's Raheem Sterling 'takes swipe at Robbie Savage with tired tweet'

Liverpool star Raheem Sterling appears to launch a jibe at Robbie Savage, who criticised footballers for complaining about being too tired.

Liverpool star Raheem Sterling appeared to take a swipe at former footballer-turned-pundit Robbie Savage on Twitter at the weekend.

The ex-Leicester City and Derby County player commented on the fitness of Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic while watching the pair battle it out in the Australian Open final.

He tweeted: "When you watch these 2 play tennis it amazes me how modern day footballers complain of tiredness embarresing really !"

In response, Sterling retweeted the comment and then posted: "back to bed for me!!!"

The 20-year-old received criticism earlier this season when he was rested for an England game after he telling manager Roy Hodgson that he was too tired to play.
