Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward's passport 'lost in the post'

Danny Ward's surprise omission from Wales's 26-man group for the China Cup is reportedly due to the Liverpool goalkeeper's passport going missing in the visa process.

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward has been left out of Wales's squad for the China Cup due to an alleged logistical blunder that saw his passport get lost in the post.

The 24-year-old was due to be part of Ryan Giggs's first squad for the game against China and then one of Uruguay or the Czech Republic later this month.

According to The Times, however, Ward's surprise omission from the squad - which Giggs attempted to brush over - is down to the Liverpool fringe player's passport going missing during the visa process.

Wales have named three other goalkeepers in their 26-man group, including a first call-up for Ipswich Town's Michael Crowe.

Ward, capped four times by the Dragons at senior level, has featured just once for Liverpool in all competitions this term.
