Prime minister David Cameron has praised the "extraordinary courage" of the campaigners searching for justice for the 96 Liverpool fans who died at Hillsborough Stadium 27 years ago.
Today, a jury concluded that the victims who lost their lives were unlawfully killed during the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on April 15, 1989.
After the conclusions were delivered in Warrington, Cameron tweeted: "Landmark day as the #Hillsborough inquest provides long overdue justice for the 96 Liverpool fans who died in the disaster.
"I would like to pay tribute to the extraordinary courage of #Hillsborough campaigners in their long search for the truth."
The jury also found that the police commander on the day, David Duckenfield, was guilty of gross negligence.
