Zac Efron wanted by movie bosses for Hollywood film about Jamie Vardy?

Movie bosses are reportedly considering casting Zac Efron in a potential Hollywood film about record-breaking Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

A-list film star Zac Efron is reportedly being considered by producers to star in a Hollywood movie about Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy's rise from non-league to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old put his name in the history books by scoring in an 11th consecutive game in the top flight.

The goal, which beat Ruud van Nistelrooy's record, came in Leicester's 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Saturday.

British screenwriter Adrian Butchart, who co-wrote the first and second instalments of trilogy Goal!, has claimed that Vardy's story could be told on the big screen.

"His achievements are incredible and to break the Premier League record with such a sublime goal against the biggest club in football pushed him to the top of our agenda," Butchart told The Sun.

"It's amazing to think he was playing non-league football and making medical splints for a living until so recently before breaking the record. It is the kind of role actors dream of."

American actor Efron has reportedly been touted as the star of the film, while English A-listers Robert Pattinson and Andrew Garfield are also said to be options.
