Hyde name trialists after left-wing leaders

Conference North side Hyde name their trialists after left-wing figures in order to protect their identities.

Conference North side Hyde protected the identities of their trialists during a pre-season friendly by naming them after historical left-wing figures.

The club has taken a number of players on trial as they prepare for the 2014-15 season following relegation from the Conference Premier in the last campaign.

Ahead their match against Altrincham, the club wrote on Twitter: "Can't tweet trialists real names today, so they shall all be named after left-wing revolutionaries."

The starting lineup included the likes of former Cuba president Fidel Castro and German philosopher Karl Marx, while former British prime minister Tony Blair was among the substitutes alongside Che Guevara.
