Jerome Boateng hails news of Michael Schumacher's progress

Germany international Jerome Boateng hails the "great news" that Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma.

Germany international Jerome Boateng has given his support to his fellow compatriot Michael Schumacher after it was confirmed that the Formula 1 legend has made progress in his health.

The seven-time F1 champion is no longer in a coma and has left the Grenoble hospital where he has been treated for serious head injuries since December.

The 45-year-old was placed in a medically-induced coma after hitting his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.

After it had been confirmed that Schumacher will continue his rehabilitation process at an undisclosed location, Boateng tweeted a message about the "great news".
