Fulham have confirmed that former Labour leader Neil Kinnock was escorted from his seat for celebrating a goal against the Cottagers over the weekend.
The Cardiff City fan was sitting in the home stand with his two grandchildren to watch the Bluebirds' 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage last Saturday.
"There's not a lot to say," ITV news quotes a Fulham spokesperson as saying. "Lord Kinnock was sat in the home end and was moved by our stewards to the away end where there were a few empty seats.
"We would do the same with any away fan, it's club policy. The home fans were upset when they saw him celebrate as they would be with any fan celebrating a goal against their team."
The Labour peer's office in London is said to have claimed that Lord Kinnock thought that he was going to be originally placed in the away end with his fellow fans.
