Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says that he is not surprised that his father missed his England goal against Brazil because he fell asleep.

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted that he is not surprised that his father missed his England goal.

The 19-year-old, whose father Mark represented England, managed to find the back of the net in the Three Lions' 2-2 draw at the Maracana last night.

While the winger celebrated his triumph, his father missed it completely as he fell asleep during the encounter.

"Did he fall asleep?!" London 24 quotes Oxlade-Chamberlain as saying. "That sounds like him!"

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney also scored during the friendly.
