Chelsea defender Gary Cahill says that he was "touched" to receive a Champions League ring from former teammate Didier Drogba.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted that he was 'surprised' to receive a Champions League memento from former Blues striker Didier Drogba.

The Ivory Coast international presented his former teammates with rings customised to each player with their name and number imprinted on it, thought to be worth over £800,000.

"It was an amazing surprise," London24 quotes Cahill as saying. "I had no idea when he came in and called us all together. I was very touched.

"It was extremely generous for a start because it was his idea and no-one needs to go out and do that, not just for us, for the staff as well. It shows what his character is, he is a great lad."

Drogba left Stamford Bridge in the summer in favour of a move to Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua.
