Bolton Wanderers are reportedly poised to name their new owner before the weekend.
The Championship strugglers are due to appear in the High Court on Monday over an unpaid tax bill of £3m, and if the funds are not raised by the time of the hearing then the club could be issued with a winding-up order by HMRC.
According to BBC Radio Manchester, current owner Eddie Davies is weighing up bids from three interested parties - venture capitalist Roger Tamraz, the recently-formed Bolton Wanderers Supporters' Trust and a consortium led by former player Dean Holdsworth.
As well as the imminent tax issue, Wanderers also find themselves in debt to the tune of almost £173m and are under a transfer embargo for failing to submit their accounts on time.
A decision on the new owner is now expected before Saturday's home game with Queens Park Rangers.
