Eugenie Bouchard is a 'Belieber'

Australian Open semi-finalist Eugenie Bouchard disappoints hoards of her male fans by naming Canadian pop star Justin Bieber as her 'dream date'.

Australian Open semi-finalist Eugenie Bouchard disappointed hoards of her male fans on Tuesday by naming Justin Bieber as her 'dream date'.

The 19-year-old from Quebec produced a stunning performance to beat 14th seed Ana Ivanovic 5-7 7-5 6-2 in Melbourne, becoming the first Canadian in 30 years to reach the last four of a Grand Slam.

After the historic match on Rod Laver Arena, an interviewer from Seven Sport congratulated Bouchard on her win and then said that she 'had to ask' an embarrassing question.

She commented on Bouchard's huge popularity before asking her who she would like to date if she could chose anyone in the world. Following an awkward pause, the red-faced teenager replied: "Justin Bieber."

Bouchard's answer was met by a chorus of playful boos from the crowd.
