Randy Lerner 'will sell Aston Villa for £100m'

Randy Lerner is willing to accept £100m to sell Aston Villa, according to reports.

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is reportedly willing to sell the Premier League club for as little as £100m.

The American, who also owns the Cleveland Browns NFL franchise, is believed to have put the team up for sale in May with an asking price of around £200m.

However, the Daily Telegraph claims that a lack of interest from potential buyers has saw Lerner reduce his asking price to £150m, with an "indicative price" of £125m set for the West Midlands outfit.

Bidders are said to believe that Lerner would even be willing to accept £100m, which would represent a significant loss on his investment.

Despite his willingness to sell the club, Lerner is thought to be ready to make funds available to manager Paul Lambert as he looks to avoid a relegation battle.
