Premier League keen to stage Arsenal, Liverpool fixture on Christmas Eve?

The Premier League is reportedly looking to stage the Premier League fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool on Christmas Eve.

The Premier League has reportedly made plans to rearrange the fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium for Christmas Eve.

With Christmas Eve falling on a Sunday this year, there is scope for Sky Sports to screen a 'Super Sunday' fixture and it appears likely that the game in question will be Liverpool's 420-mile round trip to London.

According to The Telegraph, the broadcaster wants to end a 22-year period without a game on Christmas Eve by pushing the match back from its current date of December 23.

Liverpool are likely to oppose any plans to make amendments to their schedule, which also includes a similarly-lengthy journey to Bournemouth on the previous weekend.

The last Christmas Eve fixture to take place in the Premier League came in 1995, when Leeds United played Manchester United with a midday kickoff.
