TV host and lifelong Arsenal fan Piers Morgan attempted to persuade Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany to join the Gunners during a Twitter conversation on Tuesday night.
The Belgium international attracted Morgan's attention on the social networking website when he tweeted, "OMG Anderlecht," after the side came back from 3-0 down against Arsenal to draw 3-3 at the Emirates in their Champions League group clash.
Morgan told Kompany to "pipe down", to which the defender responded saying: "I got my reasons Pearsie, 14years I played for that club. :-)"
Morgan then asked the 28-year-old if he would join Arsenal for £50m, but the Belgian declined the offer by claiming that the Gunners were a "great club but no".
However, the former CNN host refused to give up as he increased his offer to £60m and two Ferraris, but Kompany rejected the Arsenal fan by tweeting: "Those days have gone Pearsie, I play for glory. :-)."
Arsenal would have qualified for the knockout rounds of the tournament if they had held on to their lead.
