Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur ban fans from bringing 'selfie sticks' to matches

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur ban 'selfie sticks' from being used by supporters on matchdays.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have banned supporters from taking 'selfie sticks' to matches.

The camera equipment, which comprises a long pole to which people to attach their camera or phone, is deemed a health and safety hazard by the North London clubs.

An Arsenal spokesman told the Camden New Journal: "We can confirm that 'selfie sticks' are banned on match days at Emirates Stadium. The club's ground regulations prohibit any object that could be used as a weapon or could compromise public safety."

Tottenham also confirmed to a supporter via email that 'selfie sticks' will not be allowed to be brought into White Hart Lane.

The Gunners have not banned fans from using the equipment during stadium tours at the Emirates.
