Arsenal fans have reacted angrily after owner Stan Kroenke purchased a 520,000-acre ranch in Texas for a reported £500m.
The billionaire, who also owns NFL side Los Angeles Rams and the NBA's Denver Nuggets, completed his acquisition of the historic WT Waggoner Estate Ranch earlier on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg.
"This is an incredible opportunity and an even greater responsibility," said Kroenke. "We are honoured to assume ownership of the Waggoner — a true Texas and American landmark."
Gunners fans took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at Kroenke's latest business deal following a transfer window in which the club made just one signing, Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, for a reported £5.5m.
One user, @NotSubPoppy, wrote: "Kroenke out here buying mega ranches but all he can do for Arsenal is buy a DM that doesn't get put in the squad :/"
@taffymaz added: "Kroenke is fully taking the piss!!! How about spunking about a 100 mill on a nice new striker for Arsenal???"
Kroenke also has ranches in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and British Columbia.
