England hammer Wales in their Commonwealth Games opener

England's netball side record a comprehensive 65-25 victory over Wales in their first match of the Commonwealth Games.

Team England's netball side have got their Commonwealth Games off to the perfect start with a convincing 65-25 victory over Team Wales.

England started the game in confident fashion and took a 17-7 in the first quarter, converting 21 of their shots into points.

Their dominance continued in the second as they netted a further 12 points while their defence restricted Wales to just three.

England pulled further ahead in the third as they were deadly accurate in scoring 19 goals from their 23 attempts, while Wales were limited to just five points from 11 shots.

The win was secured in the fourth quarter as England's offence continued to shine with a further 17 points while Wales managed to score 10 to drag themselves within 40.

Joanne Harten and Rachel Dunn notched 33 points and 20 points respectively in Team England's win.
