Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has undergone successful surgery on an arm problem in Madrid.
The 29-year-old was under the knife for two hours last Friday and is expected to be out of action for around four to six weeks as he recovers.
"The surgery was complicated and aggressive using a microsurgery technique and microscopic lens," Fox Sports quotes Dr Angel Villamor as saying.
"It lasted two hours, and was done under a local anaesthetic. We will now monitor Dani over the next few weeks to measure the success of this surgery."
Pedrosa will miss the MotoGP race in the United States on April 12 and the Argentina Grand Prix one week later.
