British racing driver Sean Edwards has died at the age of 26 after a crash during testing in Australia.
Edwards suffered fatal injuries when a Porsche 996 he was a passenger in hit barriers at Queensland Raceway.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Brisbane who is currently unidentified, is in intensive care with life-threatening injuries.
Briton Edwards is the son of former F1 driver Guy Edwards, who was one of the drivers that pulled Niki Lauda out of his burning Ferrari after a crash at the Nurburgring in 1976.
Edwards was well on course to become this season's Porsche Supercup champion as he led the series by 18 points with just two races remaining this year.
