Team Canada women's ice hockey assistant coach Lisa Haley has said that she is "proud" of her players for winning gold at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The Canadians came from 2-0 down to get the better of the USA 3-2 in overtime in the final on Thursday.
"I'm stunned," the Chronicle Herald quotes her as saying. "What a game! Oh my goodness! It's hard to know what to say.
"The players have gone through so much this year with the schedule we've put them through. The coaching change, the captain change - they were ready. So there was no panic.
"When the first goal went in, you could just feel the US got tighter and the wave just started to build in our players. It ended in a tsunami I guess. It was unbelievable. I'm so proud of these guys."
The victory saw Canada win their fourth straight Olympic gold medal in women's ice hockey.
