Team GB gymnast Charlie Fellows feeling confident ahead of Baku 2015 bow

Great Britain competitor Charlie Fellows is eager to get going in the women's team finals gymnastic event at the European Games.

Charlie Fellows has admitted that she is "really happy" to have stepped out of the shadow of her Great Britain teammates and into the spotlight at the European Games.

The 18-year-old missed the cut for the last Olympics on home soil due to her age, while she also had to make do with being a reserve gymnast at the 2014 World Championship in Nanning, China.

Fellows is now at the forefront, however, forming part of the Team GB side that will compete in the women's team finals on Sunday and Monday at National Gymnastics Arena.

"Sometimes you just need to wait and good things will happen," she told Games News Service. "I only found out just over a week ago at a competition in Belgium. I had a good competition there and was put on the team.

"There was another girl I was competing against, so it was quite nerve-racking. I'm really happy to be part of the team and not the reserve. If anyone makes a mistake it hurts the team. So you just have to concentrate a bit more and get everything prepared.

"I know my routines, and I just have to stay calm and perform. I think we have a good shot. We have a good team. We're very strong on all four apparatus because we're all all-arounders. If we do our job, I think we'll do pretty well."

Fellows will also compete in the women's individual all-around event in Baku.
