Russia win group rhythmic all-round gold

Russia win gold in the group all-round rhythmic gymnastics, finishing just ahead of Israel at the European Games in Baku.

Russia have won the gold medal in the group all-round event in rhythmic gymnastics at the European Games in Baku.

The winners posted the best score in the five ribbons, but could only manage fourth in the three sets of clubs and two hoops, giving them a score of 35.300.

Israel tried to capitalise with a strong performance with the second apparatus, but came up just short to claim silver, while Belarus beat Spain to the final spot on the podium with a high score in the second round.

The medal is Russia's 13th gold of the Games, which keeps them comfortably at the top of the table.
