Powerlifter Natalie Blake claims silver medal

England powerlifter Natalie Blake claims silver in her lightweight final at the Commonwealth Games.

England powerlifter Natalie Blake has won silver in her Para-sport lightweight event at the Commonwealth Games this morning.

The four-time Paralympian took her points total to 100.2 after a solid lift of 95kg was enough for her to seal second on the podium.

Blake, who was born with spina bifida, claimed silver earlier this year in the European Championships, while also winning gold in the UK Open - setting a personal-best lift of 101kg in the process.

Esther Oyema of Nigeria, who won gold in this event in Delhi four years ago, retained her title ahead of the 31-year-old.
