Webb Simpson gets 2014 Ryder Cup underway

American player Webb Simpson gets the 2014 Ryder Cup underway in the opening fourballs on Friday morning.

Team USA player Webb Simpson has got the 2014 Ryder Cup underway with a mis-hit tee shot on the first hole at Gleneagles.

In front of a partisan crowd, Simpson sent his shot barely 200 yards towards the hole but while he found the fairway, teammate Bubba Watson cleared his ball by over 100 yards.

Opponents Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson both found the fairway to the delight of the home crowd.
