Stricker, Rose in contention as Poulter fades
Steve Stricker and Justin Rose are are in contention after round three at the US Open, while a poor final four holes sees Ian Poulter fall back.

Steve Stricker and Justin Rose are tied for third and sixth respectively at the US Open, while a disappointing end to Ian Poulter's round has left him seven shots off the lead.

Poulter had been tied for second at one stage and managed six pars in a row, before two bogeys and a double-bogey in his final four holes saw him finish on 73, five-over par for the tournament.

Stricker, meanwhile, parred 15 holes on day three, breaking stride only for a double-bogey at the ninth, and birdies at 10 and 12 which saw him remain on level par, for the round and the tournament.

His playing partner Rose was tied for the lead at one-under going into the final couple of holes, but finished with consecutive bogeys to end with a 71, one-over par overall.
