Phil Mickelson leads US Open by one shot

Phil Mickelson leads the US Open by one shot going into the final round, while his playing partners Luke Donald and Ben Horschel are two back.

Phil Mickelson leads the US Open by one shot, going into tomorrow's final round at the Merrion Golf Club.

The American went round in a level-par 70 on day three, recovering from two early bogeys with birdies at 10, 11 and 17, before a bogey at the final hole left him on one-under par for the tournament.

His playing partners Luke Donald and Billy Horschel, who shared the lead with him for a long time, are two shots back.

Donald finished with a bogey and double-bogey, after 16 holes of very good golf, to end the day with a 71.

The third man in the group, Horschel, recovered from a couple of early bogeys to stay within contention heading into the final round.
