Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell is the latest golfer to congratulate Justin Rose for winning his first ever major at the US Open on Monday.
Rose kept his cool to shoot a final round score of 70 and become the first Englishman to win the title in 43 years after holding out Phil Mickelson.
McDowell, who won the same competition at Pebble Beach back in 2010, has no doubts that Rose is a worthy winner of the tournament.
"Congratulations to @JustinRose99. Best player in the world the last few years. Major much deserved. #respect." McDowell wrote on the social networking site Twitter.
Rose finished one over to take the honour at Merion Golf Club.
