Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar take a 3-up lead into the back nine as America continue their dominance in day one's fourballs at the Ryder Cup.

Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar have recovered from an early deficit to comprehensively lead Justin Rose and Martin Kaymer in the final day one fourball at the Ryder Cup.

Rose and Kaymer were under pressure from the start as America had begun the fourballs strongly and Rose came up with the goods by birdieing the first for an early lead.

However, the Anglo-German duo could not keep up the momentum as Johnson snuck in a birdie two on the second before Kuchar went under par on four and five to give America a 2-up lead.

Both pairs made birdies at the sixth before Kuchar rolled in yet another on seven, with Kaymer missing his chance to hand the home pair a 3-up advantage.

Eight and nine were both halved to see USA enter the back nine with a 3-up lead.
