Ryan Moore beats Gary Woodland in CIMB Classic playoff

Ryan Moore shoots a birdie on the first playoff hole to beat Gary Woodland and clinch the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur.

Ryan Moore has won his first title in over a year by overcoming Gary Woodland in a playoff at the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur.

The 30-year-old American had finished tied with his compatriot on 14-under-par yesterday, but thunderstorms meant that their playoff had to be postponed overnight.

The par-five 18th was the first playoff hole, and after Woodland found the rough with his second shot, Moore knocked his to within three feet.

He stood shakily over the birdie putt but sank it cleanly to record his first win since last year's Shriners Open, and third overall on the PGA Tour.
