The Frenchman carded eight birdies and an eagle to record a terrific round of 62 to lead from Spain's Adrian Otaegui.

A round of 66 moved Otaegui ahead of compatriot Alvaro Quiros as the first-round leader dropped down to third on the leaderboard.

Raphael Jacquelin ended Friday's play in fourth, with Mikko Ilonen and Richie Ramsey a shot further adrift in a tie for fifth.

Henrik Stenson, who can become world number one with victory in Asia this week, is 11 shots off the lead.
