Zach Johnson wins the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Illinois.

Zach Johnson has produced a brilliant final round to win the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Illinois.

The 37-year-old shot a six-under 65 to finish on 16-under, two clear of compatriot Nick Watney.

Overnight leader Jim Furyk (-13) could only muster an even-par 71 to end the tournament in third place, while Jason Day, Luke Donald, Hunter Mahan and Steve Stricker shared fourth on 11-under.

Matt Jones (-10), Charl Schwartzel (-10) and Brandt Snedeker (-10) completed the top 10, although the day was tinged with disappointment for the Australian, who missed out on qualifying for the TOUR Championship by 26 points.

One man will walk away with a cheque for $10m (£6.2m) at East Lake Golf Club next week.

Tiger Woods currently tops the FedEx Cup standings, but Henrik Stenson is his closest challenger now that the points have been reset.

Donald has also sneaked inside the 30-man field.
