Scott Jamieson has won the inaugural Nelson Mandela Championship in Durban, South Africa.

The 29-year-old shot a second-round 57 and got the better of Eduardo de la Riva and Steve Webster in a playoff.

De la Riva bogeyed the first extra hole to drop out and Webster did the same to hand Jamieson the victory.

"I knew I needed a fast start and was lucky enough to get that," said Jamieson.

"It's an honour to win a tournament like this. Getting your name on any European trophy is a fantastic achievement, but it's a bit more special with someone like Nelson."

The win was also Jamieson's first European Tour triumph.
