Billy Horschel claims victory in Tour Championship

Billy Horschel wins on the PGA Tour for the second time in two weeks as he records a three-shot victory to secure the lucrative Tour Championship title in Atlanta.

American Billy Horschel backed up his win at the BMW Championship last week by recording a three-shot victory in the Tour Championship in Atlanta on Sunday.

Horschel shared the lead with Rory McIlroy going into the final round of the tournament, but the 27-year-old pulled away from the world number one and rest of the chasing pack on day four.

The American shot a two-under par round of 68 to finish on 11-under for the tournament to claim his victory at East Lake, and the £7m cash prize which comes with his FedEx Cup triumph.

McIlroy finished in a tie for second place with Jim Furyk, as the Northern Irishman posted a one-over round of 71 to finish on eight-under.

Chris Kirk, Jason Day and England's Justin Rose placed in tied-fourth on seven-under for the tournament.
