Scott Hend has won the Hong Kong Open after beating Angelo Que in a sudden-death playoff this morning.
The Australian was second on the leaderboard at the start of the fourth round and shot three-under par on the final day to finish level with the Filipino on 13-under.
Que had also finished the tournament strongly after heading into today's round two shots behind Hend, and three adrift of overnight leader Marcus Fraser.
A run of three birdies on the back nine ensured that Hend headed to the 18th knowing that another birdie would win him the tournament, but he had to settle for par after landing his approach shot in a bunker.
Que would have been confident heading into the playoff, after four birdies in the final six holes of his round, but he was unable to continue his momentum and bogeyed to allow Hend to wrap up a first European Tour title on the first additional hole.
