Tommy Gainey wins the McGladrey Classic to register his first triumph on the US PGA Tour.

Tommy Gainey has won the McGladrey Classic with a course record 10-under-par 60 at Sea Island, Georgia.

It was the 37-year-old American's first US PGA Tour title, as he got the better of his compatriot David Toms by one shot on Sunday.

Gainey made up seven strokes on overnight leaders Jim Furyk and Davis Love III, finishing 16-under with eight birdies and an eagle on the par-five 15th.

Gainey had recorded just one top 10 finish in his previous 30 starts on the 2012 PGA Tour.
