Jason Day admits mental coaching helped him win first Major

Australian Jason Day admits that he has seen "multiple mental coaches" in a bid to help him win his first Major title.

US PGA Championship winner Jason Day has admitted that he has seen mental coaches to help him get over past failures in Majors.

The 27-year-old finished in the top four on six occasions before he broke his duck at Whistling Straits by three shots from Jordan Spieth.

He is quoted as saying by BBC Sport: "I've seen multiple mental coaches. But the biggest thing that prepares you for something like this is the sheer experience of failure.

"Looking at it as a positive and knowing you can learn from anything - that really gets you mentally tough."

Day tied for ninth at the US Open and fourth at The Open earlier this year.
