Paul Casey looking for first major honour

Paul Casey looks to put injury problems to one side ahead of US PGA.

Paul Casey is hoping to put turf foot problems to one side as he looks to capture the US PGA title in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 34-year-old had an MRI scan last week, revealing the injury ahead of the event which begins today.

However the world number 16, who finished tied for 12th place last year, said that he is feeling positive.

“From what I have seen of the golf course so far it looks like a long decent golf course,” he told Sky Sports News.

“The US PGA is a very different set up to the other majors we get. It’s one that suits my game. I want to build on last year’s performance, but this is a completely different course.”

The Cheltenham-born golfer has captured 12 professional titles during his career. His best major performance to date was last year’s Open, where he finished third.
