Tiger Woods has racked up 44 shots on the first nine holes of his third round at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.
It is the highest nine-hole total of his professional career and set him on his way to an eventual score of 78, which leaves him eight-over-par for the championship.
Starting on the back nine, he commenced with two straight pars. However, things quickly unraveled, as a double bogey at 12 was the first of three throughout the day.
Pars at 13 and 14 kept him at three-over, but his second double of the day at 15 dropped him back to five-over. He ended with a bogey and a double before heading to the front nine, where he strung together birdies at the first and second.
Another birdie came at the fifth, but dropped shots at the sixth and ninth left the 14-time Major champion well off the pace.
