Tiger Woods has admitted that "nothing went his way" after he carded an opening-round 77 at the Hero World Challenge in Florida.
The former world number one, who is making his first appearance since missing the cut at the US PGA Championship in August, miscued a number of chips during Thursday's round, with the American quick to describe his short game as "awful".
The 38-year-old told reporters: "It was weird. My short game was awful. I didn't make anything. It was just one of those days where nothing went my way.
"I hit a lot of good shots and I got nothing out of it, obviously. Bad chips, bad putts and a couple of missed shots on the front nine on the wrong side really compounded the problem.
"I hit terrible chips. It certainly is surprising that I could hit chips that poorly. I just flubbed them."
Woods has slipped down to number 24 in the world rankings in recent months.
