Peter Uihlein to begin professional career in Europe

American rookie Peter Uihlein has chosen to join the European tour for his first professional year.

Former American amateur champion Peter Uihlein will begin his professional career by competing on the European tour after signing with International Sports Management.

The 22-year-old rookie joins the same management company as British golfers Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood.

Uihlein said: "The PGA European Tour plays all over the world from the United Kingdom to China, from Korea to South Africa and from the Middle East to Southeast Asia."

Uihlein will make his debut next month in Abu Dhabi, where he will join a strong field for the HSBC Championship.

"Those players who have played on the Tour, and who are still members, make for a pretty impressive list," he added.

By signing for International Sports Management, Uihlein also joins major winners Ernie Els, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen on the stable's roster.
