Hudson Swafford has won The American Express tournament in California, the American finishing strongly to claim a two-shot victory.
The world number 166 started the three-course tournament slowly, only posting an opening-round 70, but scores of 66, 65, and 64 respectively ultimately got the job done.
Swafford completed the back nine on Sunday in five-under-par, an eagle and birdie on hole 16 and 17 being followed by a clutch par put from eight-and-a-half feet on the final hole.
Compatriot Tom Hoge broke out of the pack to claim second position on his own, with Brian Harman, Lanto Griffin and Lee Hodges completing the top five.
Italy's Francesco Molinari enjoyed a morale-boosting week by finishing in sixth, while world number four Patrick Cantlay ended the tournament in ninth spot.
A final-round 71 for Jon Rahm saw the world number one finish in 14th position, but Justin Rose was the best of the English contingent down in 33rd place.
