Brandt Snedeker misses out on 59 at World Golf Championships

Brandt Snedeker narrowly misses out on recording the first ever sub-60 round in a World Golf Championships event.

Brandt Snedeker has narrowly missed out on recording a round of 59 at the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in China.

The American had hit 10 birdies and an eagle after 17 holes to leave him requiring a birdie on the final hole to achieve the milestone.

After his drive found the fairway bunker, he hit a fantastic second shot that left him with a 20-foot putt.

However, he rolled his putt narrowly wide of its target and he was forced to settle for a 12-under-par round of 60.

Snedeker's miraculous score has taken him from tied-38th to tied-fourth as the third round continues at Mission Hills Golf Club.
