Alvaro Quiros wins Dubai World Championship

Alvaro Quiros wins the Dubai World Championship on a day when world number one Luke Donald secures the Race to Dubai title.

Spaniard Alvaro Quiros has won the Dubai World Championship by two strokes from Paul Lawrie this morning.

The 28-year-old, who headed into the final day with a two-shot advantage, sealed the victory on the final hole by producing a 40ft putt.

However, the day belonged to world number one Luke Donald, who finished third but in doing so secured the Race to Dubai money title.

Donald has become the first man to win the money lists on both sides of the Atlantic in a single calendar year.
